This approximately 20 - 24# paper is made from the bark of the Lokta bush, an evergreen shrub of the Danphe species, found in the Nepal Himalaya above 6500 feet. The bushes can grow up to 10 feet in height and 2 inches in diameter, and are usually ready to be pruned four years after they sprout. The stalk is cut such that the plant is not destroyed and can easily grow again from its embedded roots. This is a beautiful earthy looking paper which allows many low income Nepalese people the opportunity to improve their standard of living. Natural color. Non-chlorine bleached. Pack of 50 sheets. Eco Categories - agriculturally based, less toxic.
